The yellow-vented bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier) is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is resident breeder in southeast Asia from southern Thailand and Cambodia south to Borneo and the Philippines. It is found in a wide variety of open habitats, but not deep forest. It is one of the most common birds in cultivated areas. They appear to be nomadic, roaming from place to place regularly.
The yellow-vented bulbul builds a well-camouflaged but fragile, loose, deep, cup-shaped nest from grass, leaves, roots, vine stems, and twigs. The nest is untidy on the outside, but it is neatly lined with plant fibers. It may be built in a wide range of places from low bushes to high trees. This is a species adapted to humans and may even nest in gardens. The yellow-vented bulbul lays 2–5 eggs in February to June.
The yellow-vented bulbuls eats berries and small fruits. They also sip nectar, nibble on young shoots, and take some insects.
My wife was nice enough to stand for a few shots. Love the garage light... just need an A/C in there... the light is amazing. 5Ds + Zeiss 135mm T* f/2 @ F/2
Another WoW from me.
Could you post a couple of 100% crops from that shot? That particular lens at f/8 on that camera is a likely common scenario for me if I get the 5Ds R - that's looking more likely every day
Thanks
Andy

Very interesting Andy. You thinking about the a7R II as well?
I thought I had settled on the a7R II as my next camera choice, but I'm starting to feel the tug and pull of a both/and decision. These 5DS R images are looking very very good.

I was definitely heading towards the "other" one but the adapter and compatibility issues needed to be worth the benefits - it's a complex set of priorities, but the lenses are why I'm currently with Canon.
Basically, still waiting for more data - KK's shot is part of that, especially if the details are as I anticipate in the 100% crops and Hatch and Paolo's shots too - and may swing back again.
Paolo - how do you like the AF? I'm hoping to combine the birding and landscape functions into one camera

Im on the fence (A7RII or 5DSR) pending thorough image quality testing. I really wanna hear/read more about the 5DSR's color and dynamic range since obviously resolution is gonna be there given good glass and technique (as shown by lensrental.com). I am curious about the Sony A7RII raw file compression / issues if any as well. I personally do not love EVFs for people photography but for landscape it is a non issue since I use a tripod and LV for that.

AJSJones, AF is pretty good. Although I need more practice.
Thanks Paolo. I'm not that much into BIF so your input is very helpful. With a birding situation, I'm likely to be FL limited and using centre point (spot) mode and "compose later" with all those extra surrounding pixels. `with landscape the AF is secondary.

^Amazing. The Apo Sonnar is at home on the 5DS. Your wife makes a great model too.
Many thanks Darbo. The lens is sharper than my Sigma 150mm macro... it has ruined me! Now I have to give the 50mm f/2 Zeiss a try Would love to shoot the Otus 85mm .. that one I'd have to rent. ... as selling a kidney is not an option at this moment in time.
Oh man... want to test your marriage... have your wife (not a photographer) take your mug shot... with a manual focus lens...@f/2.0 ROFL!!!
29 images... 1 1/2 keepers. lol
Natural light in the front... strobe blowing out the garage wall behind. I thought it was time to update the mug shot... this one was scary... but... not as scary as the others.
