On Sunday, Dan Heitman and I went out to see if we could shoot some smokey sunrise at Vermillion.Unfortunately the smoke had moved on from a couple of days ago. But we took pictures of sunrise.
We drove down vermillion road afterwards and at our usual winter spot for landscape there was a small pond with some suckers locked in from being flooded and then flood going away. And a grizzly had found the spot.
After about an hour of watching the grizzly some young campers from Australia and other noisy people came by. The noise of the people talking made the grizzly edgy. A coyote walked through the bush and startled the bear. She ran straight up the hill toward Dan. Dan was not paying attention to the bear and everybody ran but Dan. As the bear came over the hill I was debating - bear spray or run back to get the jeep to save Dan. Fortunately even though the only thing between Dan and the bear was his tripod and 500mm lens, the bear went by him. An exciting morning wake up for Dan.
Here are the best fishing pictures from the grizzly from the morning.

birdied: Glad you like the set. Dan now has a story to compete with my stories. I will never hear the end. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Did Dan have an extra pair of pants with him?? I do hope you were using his vehicle if not. Another very nice set Scott. 8, 9, and 10 look rather menacing. ~ Ron

It was my car but I thought it would be rude to ask given that I got out of the way instead of standing with him in his stand-off.
Great stuff as always Scott. I like the way #5 is naturally framed. The last one is my favorite. Looks like it's trading it's taste for fish in for a taste of Dan. Hopefully Dan showered afterwards!!
