A few months ago I inquired about a visit to the Grand Canyon that I was going to be making. I was told about Toroweep as a great place to shoot. The advice paid off. So, thanks for the input.
Very nice, you got really nice cloud cover!
I really like #3, with #1 maybe try not as saturated sky, because right now you have two really strong elements - the sky, and canyon itself, so the viewer does not know where to look in this composition.
#2 is great, except that the rising sun is overexposed. Now, if you could address this (maybe you have a shot with shorter exposure?) then it would be perfect catch.
Adam,
While my image from Toroweap was nice, these are awesome.
I am partial to #1 as it's a view I didn't get & what a sky!
The 2nd is the classic view, just wish the sun was contained a bit more.
Overall, a great set.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the comments. #1 and #3 were from the same setting, taken maybe 1 hour apart. The sunset was truly super saturated in reality; and I just tried to keep the processing natural enough.
#2 was tough because I originally wanted to get the sun just as it peaked over the horizon. But the clouds prevented what I envisioned. So, this shot was taken a few moments afterward.
Superb shot you got there!! My fav #1. For #2 I personally think you should slightly decrease the brightness of the sun so to more balanced your scene.
