Super images Steve. I really like the first one.
Those rays are called anticrepuscular rays. They are great to capture when you get them.
Scott - THANK YOU!!!! First for the comments but especially for the link! I can't tell you how many times I have to argue that I didn't fake this and I am actually looking towards the west around sunrise. Now I can finally show what the beams are

Hey Steve,
What a great set of shots. I think for most of us it would probably be amazing to and re-edit some of our shots from 4 to 5 years ago and see what we can bring out of those shots now.
I do like #1, the double rainbow is special, but #3 is my favorite. I really love the mood in that one.
Jim
Thanks Jim - I love going back to old shots and giving them a refresh - I'll probably do it again in a few years! #3 is my fav as well, #1 usually gets more love though, so I put it first

A great set Steve!
I really like the 1st, but love the 3rd. The mood & the color/glow in the rocks really makes it sing.
Thanks for posting

Sweet shots, number 2 is my favorite overall for the strong foreground and balanced composition. I love the frozen waves in 3 too. I think they're all oversaturated, but that's just my preference.
Thanks for the feedback #2 actually was one of 10 winners in the "Share The Experience Photo Contest" - 16K total entries, so I'm really happy with that one

Exceptional work Steve. 1 and 3 for me, too. After some careful looking, for now, 3 goes on the wall.
Thanks - I think I might actually do a metal print of it.

Lake superior? I know these spots. I used to live there before I even owned a P&S. Great catches. You tempt me to go back there. Well, so much to do and to see, so little time.
But thanks for showing these wonderful images.
was that somewhere by Duluth?

BTW, it happens all the time when you take an out-of-this-world picture, reflectively and instantaneously you hear: it is photoshop!
Thanks
These are more near Munising MI - you should head back, it's amazing how dramatic that lake can get!

Thanks Tim - it felt that way when I was out there with the wind roaring. Very wild.

Very well done Steve! These are winners! I love the water in the last one the best. You have used the perfect shutter speed to capture the power of the waves. #1 takes it though as that double rainbow is amazing.
Thanks for sharing!
Corey
Thanks Corey! I got crazy lucky with the rainbow - it wasn't there when I started, I was just getting the stormy clouds when the rainbow started to form (and my jaw started to drop)

Fantastic Steve!
Easily the most beautifully rugged of all the great lakes.
Made me put The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on my old turntable!
Thanks Craig That song comes to mind every time I'm up there and thing get stirred up. It;s amazing how powerful that lake can be!

Really good photos, Steve. Like #3 best. Kinda shows some violent action in the waves IMO.
John
Thanks - the waves are really impressive when you're standing there. They camera just can't convey it properly - these photos look mild compared to the way it felt standing there!
