Wow… The first, is a really incredible capture with very unique lighting and atmosphere. The processing in the 3rd one is way over the top good. Really really like how you worked the waves.
Great photos, she's always a beautiful lake no matter what mood she's in. If you're ever in the Keweenaw, let me know and I'll buy you a beer at my restaurant.

Thanks - the waves has a lot of detail in them and I tried to pull it out to a reasonable extent in post (although I may have pulled slightly harder than I should have )

Hey - thank you! I might be up later this year - what restaurant? I may have already been there!
A nice set of images. #1 is my favorite thanks to the amazing weather conditions, but #3 comes close with that incredible wave action. I'd like an even faster shutter speed if possible, but perhaps it was not. Great set of images.

Thanks Chris. SS was tricky - I was using a D3x which I didn't want to push too hard into higher ISOs. For most of the waves, the SS worked, but some do have some motion. (Although I'm not sure if I'd want them completely frozen either, I kind of like the motion - tough call)
He Steve these are fantastic. I like your processing as well-rich and artistic, but believable to the eye. They are really inspiring to me as living in the Midwest is a tough place to shoot any WOW shots. It's rare to find these kinds of spectacular shots in the U.P. Seriously, great job!!

These are beautiful, Steve. The second one does it for me. Love how you captured the waves in all of them though.
Thanks - lots and lots of shots to grab just the right waves

Thanks - The UP can get stingy at times (I went 10 days without a shot once), but sometimes it gets generous. These are all taken within a 24 hour period: morning - evening - morning (they are posted in reverse order).
