p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Sunday Safari Sampler....you never know whatcha gonna get

It's too cold and windy to go out and do much of anything so I decided a mini safari was in order. Getting up even earlier than usual to ride to the balloon lift off site. This was not nearly as good as the first time I did this some 5 years before...the vagaries of the wind and location of the mass herds and the condition of the grasses dictate just how good the photography can be....but still an amazing experience
Eric

1 Early morning, still a few stars visible, and the balloons are being readied

Beautiful. You did much better than my balloon safari. There were hardly any animals to see but it was memorable. I like all the images shot from above. Unique perspective.

Cold? The food in my bird feeder froze last night. I've got to go out and clear it for the pore creatures.

2, 5, 13-last with the last my pick Eric. I greatly enjoyed this set

Very cool Eric. That is an impressive horn on that rhino -- hope it stays that way.

Great stuff Eric. I love the aerials. With the Zebras standing out - and the sunrize too, although I would be tempted to remove the buildings in the lower right side. For the rest, the last two stand out ~ Ron

Eric, you keep showing us that don't get to travel what we're missing and I'm sure as others are we love seeing things like this. Another fantastic set.

Thanks Morris....yes the little birdies are having a tough time as are the squirrels who seem to hang around the feeder also to catch the seeds the birds knock out.

Thanks so much and yes, I do hope that rhino avoids harm...it seems that it is getting more and more difficult protecting those guys.

I tried but the Maasai complained and you don't want to get them upset...thanks Ron

Thanks Tim...I am lucky to be able to do this periodically and do hope others enjoy seeing some exotic species...although you do seem to find the odd African bird in your part of the country and do that a whole lot better than I

What a great variety in this one Eric. You did an amazing job getting that kingfisher from a balloon No way I'm picking a favourite out of this one. I will say that shot with the balloon in the air over the savanna is really cool.

So that's the way the other half travels! I need to get out more. Some of those bird shots are great, esp. the LC Eagle.

Thanks....I love going back and realizing there was so much I didn't look at or consider...one of the problems when you take 12-15K shots and then real life takes over

No, no, no the kingfisher wasn't from a balloon, that would be silly...it was from a drone ...thanks and it is a fabulous experience and oddly, for someone who has a fear of heights, it really doesn't scare me in the least....I think the high wall of the basket is pretty comforting.
