just got my 300mm F4E ,on D810 cant get sharp photos at range 1/80-1/200,but no VR problem with D4 body.Maybe problem with D810 shutter certain?
Does anybody know a retailer in the UK, EU or US that actually has them in stock.
I getting sick of being just on "waiting lists", I'd like to purchase for an upcoming Costa Rica trip late next month.
As said before I have the VR issue as well (between 1/60 - 1/160s on a D7100, but not with my V1 using the electronic shutter) and Nikon is still investigating. Outside that shutterspeed range it is a great lens.

I did a quick test with my V2 and it works well at 1/160

Thanks guys, I did manage to source one in the Netherlands just after I asked the question, so appreciate the help, I should have it by end of week.
I did also make sure that there were NO VR issues with my lens as the retailer has sent me some both jpg/RAW files at 1/200s through to 1/40s with VR ON and all are nice and sharp.
Here:
D4s 300 f/4 PF ED 1/100s f/5.6 ISO220 with VR On.
That's what I call good service, another interesting thing is that I'm actually catching a cheap flight to Amsterdam and back home (Basel) the same day and it will still cost less than HALF what Swiss Customs will charge me (in Taxes/VAT) to ship.

Congrats! Let us know how it works on your camera please. Which camera will it be used on? The camera used in the photo you shared was the D4s. I wonder how much image VR blur variation is attributed to different DSLR camera bodies the lens is used with.
I've been looking into this lens, but it's out of stock at the moment. Would like to try it out at one of my local camera stops, but no Bueno so far. >_<

Looks good to me.
Out of curiosity, from which store did you buy it?
