That is just totally super! Wonderfully captured. #1 is my favorite.

Harsha!
Two very lovely shots. Nice work. Have never been to Banff so not at all familiar with features there. Could you please identify the two locations? Thanks
Thanks. The two locations are mentioned in the thread.

Truly spectacular images. Must be a great pleasure to shoot in such raw landscape setting!
This is one of my best outings. Must see place if you haven't been there.
Nice shots Harsha and congrats on win! The first is a little bit too fabricated for my liking, but only because I know that location and what the light does there fairly well. Cool snow action in the second shot.

Love the light and the composition
Makes me feel like I am standing on the bank of the river ( the Bow ? ) and soaking in the majesty of the scene ( and shivering just a bit )
Bob
Thanks Bob. I don't think it is the bow river. The peak is Mount Chephren at 10,000 feet. I had to snoeshoe across the waterfowl lake to get there.

I want to travel as much as you do (fellow Iowa dweller). As usual, you brought back great images.
-Iowa may not have mountains but old barns and windmills can be very photogenic.

I really like the first image, Harsha, well seen and captured the Winter essence of the Canadian Rockies.

Both are gorgeous but that second one is just nuts. The blowing streaks of snow really worked out nicely. Great work getting all of that detail out of a single file. Very impressive.
Thanks. The light was so low and changing so quickly I think it was the only way I knew how to capture that image.

Both are awesome, but I'm going with #1. Would love to know where this is too as I'm headed to Banff this year.
Chris
Thanks Chris. See my earlier reply. Be careful. The warm weather may have change the conditions.

The second pic is Ha Ling Peak which is a very short drive from Canmore, Alberta. Just East of Spray Lakes road and easy to find. A very popular (and usually easy) spot for climbers but can be dangerous in poor conditions. In fact, a climber died there last August. I have seen some really nice night shots from this location as well. Now where was that first shot taken? Betcha Scott Stoness knows....
Gary, you knew more than I did. I found the area on my way to spray lake. saw this interesting peak and the light and decided to make the best out of it.

Very pleasing images. The pics do justice to an exceptionally beautiful part of Canada. Been to this region twice in the past year. It is well worth the five day drive for me. Do yourself a big favor and add it to your bucket list.
Thanks for posting Harsha
Thanks for looking and commenting.

Great capture especially the first shot! I think that is the outlet of lower waterfowl lake. I have been there in summer and never found a way to reach the opposite bank. Did you have to walk across the frozen lake to reach the location?
