p.1 #1 · Forest Rhodies

Seeing all the great images from the Desert Plateau and bitterly cold snow and ice shots, I thought I'd add one from the green coast of NorCal....
Spring is not to far off....

Fine capture of rhododedron flowers and a redwood. Great contrast, Zeph.

Hey Zeph,

Man, this is one sweet shot! Love the spot lighting in this, and the wonderful details. Capturing the Rhodies is so fun, it's like being a treasure hunter because you never know where and what they will look like from one year to the next.

Thanks Jim, yes treasure hunting is a good analogy...This scene was along a trail with a steep drop-off so I was able to look across or be level at about 30 feet up from the base of the trees. Being in the ancient forest is my place of worship.
It's about time you headed north again...eh?

Just shows you don't need a dramatic skyline for a truly fabulous photo.
Well done.

The juxtaposition of the main tree and Rhodies is great here. Nice job.
