I wouldn't normally reply to my own post, but there is something very prophetic about this one. I sent this at around 10am, Saturday. Shortly after that, we left home to watch my granddaughter play in a soccer tournament. At 11am my wife and I were stopped on a two land road waiting to make a left hand turn into the soccer center. Without warning it felt like our vehicle exploded. We were hit from the rear by a sixteen year old traveling around 40mph. No warning. No sound of screeching brakes. Just a big 'BLAM'. Even with my brake engaged at the time, we were pushed forward 120'. Fortunately no broken bones. But, a lot of aches, and pains. She was cited for 'Failure to Reduce Speed'. We all know she was more than likely on her phone texting. By the way, teenage drivers under the age of eighteen are banned from using a phone while driving period.
Glad you are okay Ed. Texting while driving is why I gave up my motorcycle two years ago. Almost got hit twice and an activity geared to reducing stress became more stressful. I miss riding down the highway though. I bought new lenses with the money from my bike sale.

Hope you are fully recovered after this incident Ed. Over here, phones are banned whilst driving by anyone whatever age, but many seem to take the risk regardless.
