I was inspired by some images taken by a friend and fellow photog, and made these of my oldest daughter. I think she'll be shedding glitter for the next month! lol I also got to try out my new Sigma 50mm art lens - I am loving it so far! I never used the 50mm focal length much because the Canon was horrific. I went through 3 copies - each having significant focus shifting problems. Anyone want to buy a dusty, poorly focusing, paperweight?
Thank you! I don't think she really has any interest in modeling professionally. She might have looked into it more seriously if we lived in a better area, but for now, she just models for me.
On a side note, I refer to glitter as "the herpes of arts and crafts". That stuff is a PAIN to get rid of, transfers easily, and pops back up at the most random times to make your life miserable! lol
Hahahah Jonathan! It really is! She went out to the movies last night with a group of friends and came back irritated with me because they were all asking why she was covered in glitter. The downside of being mom's muse! lol
Outstanding work again Lisa! I'm continually amazed by what you create. I strive daily to reach your level but it seems like I just keep getting further behind lol! Your daughter is beautiful and appears she was born to be in front of the camera. Keep it up! I have the ultimate spot for you btw.. It is the Valley of Fire on steroids and very few know about it.

Lovely! My daughter was Elsa for Halloween and her dress. Oh my. Glitter. Everywhere. It pooped glitter all over the house. I will be finding it for months.
Seems that Sigma is working nicely for you. I especially like #1 with the shallower DOF that makes the stars & stuff in the background a bit less prominent and draws more focus to your daughter's eyes and face.
Thank you! I should add that #1 is the 85L, and #2 and #3 are the Sigma. None of them were shot wide open - I wanted to keep the nose, eyebrows, etc in focus.

Come on Lisa! We all know that it is not the camera, lenses at all. It is these extensions, the tools, you use to create these spectacular images.

i think you are a wonderfully talented photographer and your daughter certainly is beautiful. that said, i think this is your weakest work yet. the glitter just doesn't work for me.
Weakest work yet...lol...thanks. I guess that's what I get for trying something different. It's all good - I love them and don't think they are 'weak' at all.
These are very nice as always Lisa. I've got the Sigma 50 and went through 3 copies and 2 trips to Sigma for calibration on the 3rd copy. Mine still isn't right...but I've learned to live and work with it. All my issues with it are with shooting wide open at closer distances.
!!! My house has been overtaken by it also since this little shoot. It is everywhere!! I vacuum, and it reappears. Like magic! lol
