These images are off the charts?

i think you are a wonderfully talented photographer and your daughter certainly is beautiful. that said, i think this is your weakest work yet. the glitter just doesn't work for me.
I agree - it's okay exploratory work using material that could be revisited in the future with stronger concepts in mind.

These are very nice as always Lisa. I've got the Sigma 50 and went through 3 copies and 2 trips to Sigma for calibration on the 3rd copy. Mine still isn't right...but I've learned to live and work with it. All my issues with it are with shooting wide open at closer distances.

That sounds like what I went through with the Canon 50 - 3 copies, all bad. lol
Weakest work yet...lol...thanks. I guess that's what I get for trying something different. It's all good - I love them and don't think they are 'weak' at all.
And this is constructive criticism? It's minted as "weak", yet provided w/ no empirical backing or logic as to why the critics are invoked with that response.
Well, I thought it was bold and if...a deviation from your particular vogue, very refreshing. I like it.
Though I'm sure it's safe to assume the critics mean weak pertaining to the quality of your previous work? Must be of high degree.
Thanks guys! In the end, my daughter and I played around with an idea I had, had a good time doing it, and we both love the end result. It's all good. I do feel like I should get some credit for trying something different though, don't you think? No back light, no bokeh, no 200L. It's good to experiment. I still don't get the 'weakest work yet' comment - that was honestly pretty rude with zero advice on how to do this sort of a shoot and NOT make it 'weak.' Whatever though! These types of comments nearly always come from a critic who NEVER shares any of their own work, so I take it with a very hefty grain of salt.
Lisa...I've been a fan of your work for a couple years now and I have to say that each time you share with us it appears as if you're getting better and better. You're maturing as a photographer, evolving your style, and best of all you're not afraid to try new things! I think what kills a lot of photogs is that they find once thing they like or are good at and stick with it and don't vary it up. Which then leads to a whole passel of average/same looking products across the market. You're continually fresh, dynamic, and stunning...I'm seriously jealous of your skill set and talents and I'm going to shamelessly copy your fantastic ideas. :-P
And I hate glitter. It.Gets.EVERYWHERE. :-D Oh well, the price of having a daughter I suppose...
