Some early results from my newly acquired 1Ds and 500 f4.5. It is hell when you have to use a 500 to get flower pics!

I do get some strange looks and the occassional "do you really need a lens like that to shoot flowers?". I let them look thru the view finder and get a few ooohs and aaahs!

They're all beautiful, but I think the middle one is my favorite. The reflections are really gorgeous.

I appreciate the comment Chris. I am in Austin, these were all taken at Mayfield Park (near Mt. Bonnell if you are familiar with Austin).

I guess I will need to get several sets of Kenko tube (500mm worth) so I can do some REAL macro work!
