I was out shooting water falls in the Adirondack Mountains here in New York when I notice I wasn't alone, I think he was a blue heron.

Canon 1Ds, 24-70mm zoom @ 70mm, f14, 1 second exposure, iso 100

What could have been 'just another waterfall' shot.......

Thanks for everyones input and comments. I never got to see go after any fish. After this shot I tried to get just a little closer but he took off and went up river farther.

Hello Robert,

Love the composition. This is the first time I've seen a heron hunting in moving water. Perhaps a bit more USM than necessary?

nice! Maybe a closer crop would bring out the heron more? At first glance I wouldn't have noticed the heron if not for the accompanying text.
