Thanks for the Sigma 50 Art shots Charles. I've been thinking about getting one. Sometimes 50mm is so right. I have the Nikkor 50/1.4 AFD and it's ok, but the rendering of the Art series seems to be quite a step above. The one of the horse's eyelashes gives a very good idea of what the 50 can do.

Thank you Dan The 50 Art is an amazing lens, but you do need to fully test your copy before you leave the store for AF accuracy and consistency. Hopefully this will continue to improve with Sigma in the future. I also have the 50/1.4 G and 58/1.4 G and each lens is so different. I do feel the 50 Art is one of the best lenses within the Art range. Sometimes for portraits I prefer the 58/1.4 G as the 50 Art can be too harsh depending on the skin and age.

HeyLance! It is Fingal Heads Lighthouse
I know it well. We used to holiday every Christmas 50 through to 40 years ago just south along the beach at my grandparents house. It was on Lagoon Road and backed onto the beach, through a bit of a rainforest - it was "Heaven on a Stick". so to speak. One of the most beautiful parts of the world. What I'd give to have that house now!
