While in Africa, I got the following notice from Nikon Technical Advisory:
"TECHNICAL SERVICE ADVISORY FOR USERS OF THE NIKON D810 DIGITAL SLR CAMERA
Dear Kandace,
Thank you for choosing Nikon for your photography needs.
Nikon Inc. is contacting you regarding your D810 D-SLR camera. As you may be aware, Nikon Inc. recently issued a Technical Service Advisory for Users of the Nikon D810 D-SLR camera.
We have received a few reports from some users of the Nikon D810 digital SLR camera indicating that noise (bright spots) are sometimes noticeable in long exposures, and in some images captured at an Image area setting of 1.2× (30×20).
After looking into the matter, we have determined that some noise (bright spots) may on occasion be noticeable when shooting long exposures, and in images captured at an Image area setting of 1.2× (30×20).
For further details on this Technical Service Advisory and to check if your D810’s serial number is affected please visit the D810 Service Advisory at: D810 Service Advisory. If your camera is not one of those affected, you may continue using their camera without concern for this issue. Nikon service centers will service these cameras that have already been purchased as needed free of charge to the customer.

I just sent my D810 camera in for this warranty recall. Has anyone else experienced this?
the SB (Service Bulletin) came out rather quickly. and none of my images were affected being that i had not used the specific setup that was mentioned. sent it out on a thursday got it back on the next tuesday. there individuals that it has affected when shooting in that specific mode.

Thanks for the kind words! All except "2014-09-20-_D813999-Edit" were taken with the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art. "2014-09-20-_D813999-Edit" was with the Nikon 135mm f/2DC.
