Wow, the 7DII is becoming more and more awesome by the hour .
Now with 12fps and a (Foveon-like) multi-layer sensor.
Like I said, though, it almost looks as if someone is pulling CanonRumor's leg ... intentionally.
Setting them up, so that at announcement time they will look like fools.
Unless the Psychic guy is pulling our leg too, his info seems much more realistic and plausible.
He did 'guess' the 70D correctly last year, btw.
This is a small rundown of what we know and can publish about the EOS 7D Mark II (If that’s what it’s called).
* Full metal body (EOS-1 build quality)
* EOS-1 style top plate
* New sensor technology (multi layer)
* No Wifi built-in
* Not touch screen, super durable LCD cover
* 12fps shooting (or faster)
* Dual Pixel AF
* New AF system
This will probably turn out to be Canon’s best specced camera ever. We’re also told, that just like the EOS 5D
Mark III launch. This camera should be available pretty soon after the announcement.

* New sensor technology (multi layer)
This is intriguing to me! Of course we are all hoping that it has 13.5-14.0+ stops of DR.
But this is also pointing in the direction of improved color fidelity. Either via the IR & UV patents for handling skin, or a potential "true color" sensor.
I was hoping that they might give us "true color" by splitting each pixel into 4 parts (similar to the DPAF), and combing each of those into 1 output pixel. Similar to what they have been doing at much lower resolution levels with their Cinema sensors.
In any event, this is something that is going to stir up a lot of (mostly irrelevant) discussion until we have the results of real tests in hand.
Every Canon body is intended to be a "category leader" in sales. They don't produce "niche" bodies, with one killer feature and lots of serious deficits in other areas. So i am pretty sure they will "get it right."
Exactly what "it" is, though ... damn Canon. Just tell us please!

While I'm hoping Canon can improve low ISO DR, if it doesn't it won't kill my enthusiasm for it. I'm looking at a 7D2 for reach and speed. Better high ISO is more of a priority then low ISO.
12FPS, 1D build, 5D3/1DX AF, better high ISO, and a 24MP APS-C sensor would still be a killer body in my mind.

Both of them are rumor sources, and as such, you have no facts to know which is more realistic and plausible.

Add autofocus at f/8 and I'll put in my preorder now.

Not the information itself, but it's statements like this that make me suspicious of "rumor" sites like these. You're either telling it all or you aren't, the verbiage "can publish" at least hints that they know some things but aren't telling...
Even 3200 was very usable on the 7D, I hope to see about a 1 1/3 stop improvement along with "cleaner" noise meaning less of the black dirty spots you would get.
I put it in a different thread since this one had seemed kinda long and off the rails and ihadn't checked in and noticed it was brought up here already, anyway here is what I wrote in the other thread:
They claim that leaks have been clamped down more than ever and yet these sound like bigger leaks to me than they have had in a long time! I don't get why he call these minor details because of many leakers being shut out of the loop this time?
Anyway he claims these are 100% (although he didn't put CR2 or CR3 or any CR at all).
"New sensor technology (multi layer)

Wow, sounds like the engineers escaped the basement closet and managed to lock the marketing droids in there and turn the tables.
Wow, this sounds potentially pretty amazing. Assuming some of the details did not get lost in translation.
This also sounds like pretty huge leaks to me, even bigger than recent leaks for other bodies though, so I don't see how this is clamping down on leaks
Almost all the other rumors had hinted that multi-layer or IQ stuff might not fully hit until the 5D4.
I just hope they can pull off multi-layer sensor. I have to imagine they couldn't dream of making this sort of body poor at high ISO. Wow, have they solved all of Fuji's issues? Might it deliver single layer high ISO quality, proper color under all lighting and did they also include new on-chip ADC for exmor shadows Or is it some weird mess since multi-layer sensor have all so far been so heavily compromised this would take a shocking level of breakthrough (but why force a weird mess out for no reason? and maybe this is why they reused the old sensors for a while, didn't feel like the expense of bothering with something intermediate and were just waiting for this ground-breaking change?).

I guarantee the rep knows very very little about the camera at all.
And now with CR claiming it's 100% to have at least 12fps.... yeah as usual the reps know nothing (other than how to max push current product and clear out old stock).

Hah, yeah, let us hope it's not some guy who used to work at Canon and now works with Nikon/Sony and is putting about disinfo to build up crazy expectations so the actual 7D2 lands with a mega-thud, even if semi-decent.

But CR guys went out on a limb and said these things are what are a given.
I wouldn't bet the farm on these specs having any credibility let alone a "given". If these latest specs are close to reality, then count on this body to be north of $3,000.
