Since I am moving in a different direction with my photography, I will have more time to do creative shoots like this. Just one image for now - may share more later. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Edited to add another...
Burning down the forest!
A wake of devastation...(my daughter really is a good kid despite being photographed with guns and burning down forests...lol)
The shot is very well done in almost every way, so understand I am "grading" on a curve here. I think the composition is thrown off balance by the light spot in the top right. I would crop her in from left, clone out the bright spot, or add something to balance on the left.
Very nice. Ive read the comments above and agree, the balance feels off with the bright spot in the right corner (I assume these are flames). As a suggestion, Im not sure you even need the appearance of a flame other than the match she is holding. The dark branches give the scene a charred appearance and the hint of smoke coming off her wardrobe also offers a nice subtle cue or implication. My only other nit, and it is small, is the branch that comes into her right hand. Nice work!
Thank you guys! I debated removing the orange spot in the corner but decided to leave it there because it looked fiery to me. It is a tiny patch of sunset sky. I will clone it out though and see which version I like best.
This is like Grimm's Fairy Tales, like what I would imagine the current TV show "Once Upon a Time" is like. Calistsa looks like an evil firestarter here. As for the bright spot in the corner, I'm torn. I like the idea of it being there, hinting at what Calista's character can do. But I also think it might be more impactful if it's much larger, but staying in the deep background.
Doesn't matter. Great image! Let's see how long this takes to get to No. 1 at 500px.
Thank you! I haven't - maybe someday I'll get around to doing that. I have so many unfinished projects. I seriously think I have ADD - I get bored and move on to the next thing so quickly. lol
Wow! Like something from a movie trailer. I found the light to the top right somehow mystical, left me questioning, is it the source of her flame, or magical power? I love the whole concept, and will be looking forward to what your creative talent can come up with. It was so different to see your daughter in this new light, no pun intended. You're lucky to have such a lovely model. Thank you so much for sharing.

I would be delighted to see the "out of camera" images from either of these. You very special processing in this style (and in your "red glow" style) is superb. Maybe I can learn something from seeing the comparison. Wish I had your artistic ability to create a final image !!!!!
Thank you, Tony! Here's a before and after of the first image. Definitely a more heavy handed edit than what I normally do but I had a vision for how I wanted it to end up, and you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
