Shot last evening in my first spring visit up Steptoe Butte. Lots of balsamroot blooming there now and the lupine is coming on as well. In the next 2-3 weeks most everything from this vantage point should have some element of green to the Palouse hills.

Gorgeous! When does the Palouse usually "peak", if it does? I was planning a trip there in mid-June hoping for the most color. It'd be my first time there so I'm not too familiar with the timing yet.

Was it pretty hazy that day? I see a lot of blue fall off in the distance.
Yeah there was a bit of haze going on in the distance... farmers are also still working the fields so there's a good bit of dust being kicked up in places that could have been a contributing factor on this.

I would bet everything will peak around the first week of June... the seasons have come on early this year, so things are moving along quite nicely.

What a sweet shot you have here. I am actually thinking I like this one a bit more than some of the peak shots due to some of those browns in the fields. They do help to had some depth to those rolling hills.
