Nigel was this picture taken on October 5, 2007?
Hi,
Looking at the EXIF data on the RAW file it was indeed captured on October 5th 2007. The time was 06.48am!
I guess you must have been there that morning and if you were I hope you stayed and got some great captures.
It would be even better if you could post one taken at the same time as its always interesting to see how we both interpreted the same scene with the light that we were presented with.
This posting was the first time I have done anything with this image. I have a tendency not to do to much with certain images but like to keep them back for future use and this was the case with this one. Its like having a stash put away for rainy days. I also feel that it isn't necessarily a good thing to always show your best works as soon as they become available. Always keep some back for future use.
You certainly made the right choice that day. Where I live in Colorado, the very best morning light that ever happens occurs in a similar situation, when there are heavy clouds in the east, but the sun gets a brief chance to peek underneath them. Of course it usually doesn't work... but when it does, wow.
