After an absence of 3 years, Joshua and I were back in Bosque del Apache for a weekend. Sure was good to be back even though it was just for a couple of days. And it was great to be able to catch up with an old friend - I am talking about Monkey-san, of course!
Set 1: Blast-off.
Set 2: Sandies in flight.
Set 3. Environmental.
Gee … thanks everyone … and I apologize for not thanking and replying to you individually! Yes, there are not a lot Bosque posting this season which is rather unfortunate.
We were in Bosque for only a couple of days. The first day was relatively uneventful and the sunrise/sunset was pretty boring with no clouds whatsoever - and a low bird count. But the 2nd morning was just terrific. Not only were we blessed with a glorious sunrise but we had multiple blast-offs - a short distance from the flight deck. The snow geese would blast off, circle around, come back down … and blast off again … and they repeated this 3 or 4 times. What a treat! We've been to Bosque twice before but the blast off was nowhere near as exciting as this one. We got lucky.
