I've posted other shots from these same bursts before but these are all new poses. This was still the best 2 hours of shooting I had in 4 days in Haines. I threw in one bonus Trumpeter shot for good measure.
WildPlanetPhoto magazine used one of my eagle shots on their website that I submitted and if you are a subscriber they used another shot in the magazine this month (Feb issue) in the Best Shots section. I was excited about that even though they don't pay!! http://wildplanetphotomagazine.com
Outstanding work Geoff. The first is my favorite ever eagle photo. I love the lighting on all and the swan photo is special with terrain in the background and the sweet light on the bottoms of the birds.
congratulations on being published. It is a wonderful feeling.
Okay...guess I can stop posting eagle pics now after that first one...what an incredible shot. Of course nothing wrong with the rest of the series. I guess the only one I'm not as thrilled with is the 3rd one, and not because of the pose, but perhaps a little more contrast....but could just be me.

Hi Scott, thanks of the comment. I know what you are seeing in the 3rd shot....there was high winds and the sand/snow was creating a sort of fog so contrast dropped. I will try a version with a bit more contrast to bring it back to the look of the other shots that weren't flying though the fog/mist/sand...whatever it was
A great set, Geoff, but the first one is off the charts!
Light, pose, and background are all amazing, and reinforce the overall impact. For me, the others are still excellent but a notch below. One nit...I think the bg in #1 would benefit from a bit of noise reduction.
Outstanding set, Geoff! #1 deserves the recognition it received - gorgeous image, amazing light. Enjoyed the rest as well, especially #2 - love that pose. Well done!
