Vibrant colors, great composition, image quality is awesome...
May I ask what lens/focal length you used and ISO? Usually these things require a mighty high ISO...
Russ
HI Russ, thanks!
I always shoot with my 70-200 except at the rare venue (Grand Rapids) when I have to be right upfront (literally in the first row) to be at stage level. Focal length varied. Tighter shots of just one or two dancers would be in the 160 area. I could pretty much almost fit the whole stage in the shot at 70. ISO varies from scene to scene. I was shooting 1600-3200 for these shots, but later (I shot 7 shows for this company), I pushed it to 3200-5000. For a few minutes during a pretty dark mouse scene, I increased it to 6400 and ran a really slow shutter speed.
Ravitej, I do plan to surprise them with a book this year.
Kevin, what I love about this company is the commitment each of the performers give. It drives me nuts with previous company's performances when the kids would be up there, and not even really paying attention to what's going on.

I figured you had to be shooting something really high end with good ISO performance. Sure enough, I checked your profile and it's a D4. Gotta love that...
Russ, yes, the D4 is pretty fabulous in low-light conditions. I started with a D200 and ISO 800 was pretty noisy. Then went to a D700 and could get some nice shots at 3200 ISO if I nailed my exposure. But the D4... geesh, I sometimes shoot at ISO 12,800 just for fun and it amazes. I'm a lucky guy to have it as my companion.
