Real nice work Geoff, I'm torn but the back lit baldy is pulling me strongly in its direction
Sweet set UT, the concentration on the eagle is just tooooo gooood for words
Lovin the set acjd, the uber close portrait is very well done
Real nice classy set Karl, you know I'm setting back and enjoying all of these! Top shelf buddy!

If it is at all possible, I think round 2 is off to an even better start than round 1! Best. Thread. Ever.
The first image is a grackle who discovered my little bird feeder this summer and soon became a daily visitor. Between the seeds and suet, he had a very healthy diet
The second image is a cormorant who must have been quite surprised when he turned around on a log only to find me floating there behind him in my kayak. He played it cool and let me shoot a few frames before calmly getting in the water and swimming away.
The third image is a GBH who I managed to sneak up on as he was perched in a tree. As Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Walk softly and carry a big lens."

What? Round 2? How did I miss it?
(I was clued in by a familiar-looking Toucan--Eric, you da man, for some terrific images, not one of which is a cat!)
And, BeeBalm, that is one of the most amazing roses I've ever seen. Many more, but...Dorian, love the OIF, DIF, and KIF.
OK, round 2 for me: I tried some landscapes this year, and had a great time. Really different mindset, incredibly challenging, and I'm still on the steep part of the learning curve. (Note to Fred: Encourage those landscape guys to comment; I got more feedback from my N&V buddies than I did from the landscapers).
#1 Fall break with my teenage daughter and friends on the Gulf Coast: sunrise 48 hours before tropical storm Karen.
#2 Same place, different perspective, T minus 24 hours.
#3 Another sunrise in a different time zone: Lake Watson in Prescott, Arizona.

Somehow I do feel a duty to uphold the flora side of this forum (since there is so much fantastic fauna flowing through this thread!).
I could keep this up for a good while, as I spent a lot of time this spring and summer (prior to breaking my arm) going after a wide variety of wildflowers. I really had some fun with flowers this year.
And, if you don't care for the flowers, you only have to scroll quickly for just a bit and you'll be back into fantastic wildlife!
Here are my round-2 favorites, for your consideration. Hope you all enjoy them (and they remind you of some warmer weather).
Regards,
Dave
1. Virginia bluebell buds in their "raspberry" state before they turn blue.
2. Wild hyacinth--a favorite spring flower with a beautiful blue against yellow play.
3. Forget-me-not single bloom and buds. One of my favorite wildflower compositions of the year, for sure.
