3 for Round 3 from me. While visiting the Bosque in November, I stopped by Tingley Beach adjacent to the Albuquerque Zoo in New Mexico. I may have mentioned it before, but I was very happy to recover these Wood Duck photos from a CF card on the 5D that displayed a card error and was unreadable in the camera. Using a software recovery program, I was able to save them.

My 3rd and final three will be a set from Serengeti. It was a little emotional and a reminder that in the animal kingdom, it's all about the cycle of life.
Mom and her two cubs were doing some lounging on this log. Unfortunately some vultures spotted them and took interest in the cubs - our guide mentioned that vultures will go after small animals.
Eventually she moved the cubs under the log and let her presence be known. The vultures later grouped in a nearby tree (limited to 3 shots unfortunately).

Hi Everyone!
The images that have been presented so far are fabulous! What a great effort from everyone. My goal or renewed effort for 2014 is that I try to learn at least one thing from each image and still I feel that most of the time nature decides when nature will reveal the precious treasures and treats that it holds. I am merely blessed to be given the moment in time so here are my three contributions to the countless hours of time and energy spent in the bush, field, city or wherever we find our subjects.
Well done everyone!
Brian

The images and the talent that is displayed here has always been amazing and inspiring... it keeps me coming back time after time.
This past year I made it a point to get outside and shoot more of a variety of subjects when I could...
In the spirit of participating and keeping this thread active..here is my humble contribution of a few images I was happy with.
Kokanee Salmon - Portrait of impending death. I really enjoyed my time with the spawning fish at Murtle Lake this fall.
Green Sea Turtle - Had to post another image of my first trip to Hawaii. It was a memorable trip in so many ways, including seeing turtles for the first time.

I'll add a few more just under the wire...it's been such a fun thread it's hard not to keep being part of...so many great images it makes me want to see what the offerings for next year will be and hope to be able to better what I've been able to contribute to what I've added for this year.
Tim, thanks for hosting this, it's been great...I hope everyone has a great New Year, and I look forward to seeing everyone's images in the coming year.
