I was just going to point out what Justin mentioned too. Did you ever try straightening out the house to correct the slight convergence to see any difference in how the overall image would turn out?
Anyway beautiful shot image all around and congrats on winning!
Wonderful shot. I'm from there, Eagle Harbor was my home many years ago and we still go back at least once a year. Storms on the big lake are legendary and you captured this storms ferocity well. If you ever get the chance revisit in winter, you won't be disappointed!

Thanks again for all the kind words
@Jim - Thanks - and... Actually, the jacket I was wearing was waterproof - it was just wet when I put it in the back of the truck to dry. It's the pants where I had a major fail on my part. I have a pair of Northface rain pants that I slip on over my regular pants - but when I arrived it had stopped raining / snowing, so I foolishly didn't bother to put those pants on - grade A stupid - I've been in the UP enough to know better. So, yup, I got soaked.
Confession - And, alas, that's not the first time something like that has happened either ...Show more →
Ha ha... yeah some how I figured knowing you that it wasn't the first time...
Thanks so much for all the comments, kind words, and votes everyone I really do appreciate it.
@Justin Thanks and fixed.
@ boingyman - Thanks - and I actually did try to straighten it a little (I think I actually did fix it a bit now that I think back), but when I got it perfectly straight it just lost too much sharpness. It would have looked good on the web, but I need to make big prints sometimes so this version was the winner.
@harborboy - Thanks - I’ve been up there in winter - and yes, it is fantastic. Haven’t been up for awhile though, maybe I’ll have to keep an eye out on the weather and head on back
ive definitely experienced the whole person showing up and snapping a quick shot while ive worked hard to get where i am at the location and they think im crazy. it cracks me up every time.
Wonderful image with an amazing sky, I particularly like that part of the sky with the rain falling from the grey cloud - that for me is "the cherry on the top"
