Beautiful. Looking forward to getting my canon FD 24/2.8 this week.
Was there any distortion correction on the above cityscapes? I'm very curious to see how much distortion that 24/2.8 has.

No distortion correction done. I did some perspective correction in the first shot. From what I've seen there's a little bit, perhaps a slight mustache character, but I haven't shot with it enough yet to say for sure. Great lens for the price.
Philip - That's a very powerful portrait, in the context of that amazing landscape...life's experiences in the old man's face and the relative naïvety of the youth behind.

Picked up the FE 28/2 for now until my Batis lenses arrive. The FE 28/2 is very nice IMO.
Shots at f/2.0 and 8
A7II and FE 28/2 this afternoon.
Thanks for posting these, Charles - I was impressed by the DXo test, and these shots, along with Phillip's suggest that it might be a cost-effective and reasonably light option as a landscape lens?
finally got to go downtown and put the 50 Lux pre-asph to some good use! portrait of a Street gentleman looking for a handout...

While viewing Loxia 2/50 photos, I'm all the time comparing to G45 in my mind. Loxia 2/50 doesn't seem to have as much "Zeissiness" than G45, but it's much more versatile. At f/2 G45 boke is much worse due to how light is distributed inside boke highlights, and even invidual boke highlights are not visible it makes boke to be unpleasantly harsh (I don't prefer butter smooth boke, I like to have some character in boke, but G45@f/2 is too much...). At f/2.8 both produce very similar boke, but G45 make subjects standout more from background and textures in subject are better, for me G45 subjects appear less flat and more lifelike.
Then at f/5.6-8 landscape usage both have their own issues; Loxia has middle dip in MTF, and it's visible f/5.6, but seems gone at f/8 (which causes slightly dull overall look compared to f/5.6). G45 on other hand has extreme corner issues (thou other people here have reported that at f/8 issues are gone, I haven't yet tested this as I shoot landscapes so rarely in Finland and last year I shoot landscapes mostly with f/5.6 as f/8 tends to make images little dull due to diffraction). On A & B zones G45 produces overall better landscapes (more presense, less flat look), but pixel peepers may prefer Loxia thou difference on smallest detail isn't very big.
From usablity standpoint Loxia shines on every area; one of the best focus helicoil I have shoot with, EXIF recording etc. I start to have feeling that when shooting season 2015 begins A7(r) sees more Loxia than G45 in it's lensmount.

Charles...love that portrait with the FE 28. Tons of presence!
Very nice series Samuli...so much detail in those landscapes.
Bob...glad to see your photos again.
Here are some more A7rM and Summilux M 50 E46 pre asph shots from downtown last night
