Maui - at the top of Haleakala, walking the Sliding Sands trails (cloudy despite the USWS forecast of clear, though there was a bit of blue sky peeking out for a minute here and there - as in the first pic. No clear views of the crater below us though), then sunset.
A7ii + FE 16-35 (1), Contax G 90/2.8 (2, 4), Leica R 60/2.8 (3)
FE16-35 is heavy stuff but slightly compacter than expected. Performance very satisfying to me. Some efforts here inspired by the many city scapes posted, here on a smaller scale. Sony A7 II.
My Distagon 2.8/28 arrived yesterday and I compared it to the FE 2/28
The FE 2/28 has a wider field of view, it is probably closer to 26mm than to 28mm. After distortion correction the field of view is that of a 28mm lens.
At f/2.8 the Zeiss and the Sony offer very similar sharpness but towards the corners it drops of much quicker with the Sony.
At f/8 both lenses are very sharp but the far corners of the Sony FE are very good while those of the Distagon are are not.
The Sony clearly has the smoother bokeh but also more bokeh fringing (LoCA).
Both are very flare resistant
I think at closer distances the FE is a bit less sharp
Thanks Phillip! Interesting, in particular the bokeh comment. Smoother on the 28/2, do you have any opinion if it is as contrasty as the 2.8 (the bokeh)?
Three from the hike up the Seaforth River - the lower reaches are deep and slow, but there are several gorges in the middle reaches where it flows over landslide debris - I've also included one of the Nothofagus forest, which is perpetually wet, given the 5-8 metres of annual rainfall.
