Some Northern lights shots from yesterday. I got out too late and missed the best part of the show and didn't have time to find a darker area. Also, the lights were moving incredibly fast, quicker than I have seen for many years, so I should have used higher ISO to better freeze their movements. Now they aren't rendered as distinctly as I would have wanted. Oh well.
A7 and C/Y 18mm/4.
Some great shots on this page. The Northern Lights were visible some way south in the UK last night apparently Helena, but sadly not as far south as Dorset.
A few of more of the ancient beech trees in the mist. I like love the shapes.

Here is the new Sony FE 24-240mm which arrived this morning. A few quick shots and first impressions.
If you need to get shots fast and have neither the time nor a comfortable environment for using multiple lenses, this 10X zoom on a Sony A7 series offers a lot of convenience and utility. On an A7s it even feels like a faster lens than it is if you are willing as I am to just let he ISO go where it wants (sorry Phillipe).
It is heavy but well balanced. For manual focus, the focus ring is conveniently close to the body. The Zoom is a bit stiff. There are all manors of lens corrections to be made but they are easy in Lightroom and I imagine they will be dealt with when Adobe releases profiles for this lens. Here are a few right out of the box shots.

Love the first one especially, great mood
Its quite an moody place, three quarters of the way up the highest hill in Dorset so mist is not uncommon and it was an Iron Age hill fort so inhabited 2000 to 3000 years ago, which adds to the atmosphere.
This is our 5th day in Iceland already and my very first chance of jumping in on this thread. I haven't had the chance to actually see the images that were posted prior to my departure and I will do so in a week from now after I have come back. The internet connection is too spotty and slow to do let me do that during the limited time here.
Except for the first 2 days when we had a major snowstorm in the southwest/western part of the country, the weather in Iceland wasn't bad.... and so far, Iceland has treated us well, including a spectacular light show of the Northern Lights last night.
Here are two images from Gullfos, one of the many waterfalls in Iceland.

Out and about on the Mississippi last night
Love that second shot, Bob, but almost unfair to single it out when there are so many others of such quality.
Here are a couple from our local gardens with my FD 50 F/1.4, inspired by your post with your OM 50, Greg - shut down to 5.6 its certainly razor sharp right into the corners, but its not a focal length that I use a lot - I tend to go wide or long and 50mm is a bit in-between. I've included one with one of my favorite longer lenses, an Apo Lanthar 180 in FD mount - small and light, so quite prone to shutter shock, requiring careful handling. John
