Thanks for your comments Michiel and Martin. The light and clouds were a bit more interesting this morning so I will see if the results are better later.
Peter, as long as you try again, go for a composition that has more foreground/background depth to it. Else your shot will end up less interesting than it might be, with simply too much sky, and slight "postcard" look. Sorry for the criticism, but it is meant in a positive, constructive way.

Peter let offer some positive comments about your shot as there are some things to really like about it. Although I agree with Michael that clear blue skies in the daytime are generally not good for landscapes your is almost and a good example of an exception to this rule. I really like how the green grass plays off the blue sky. I also find the trees to be very interesting in shape. I think you could have used the interesting shape of the trees more and gotten a good minimalist landscape shot be having all the trees in the shot be above the horizon line. That would have set off the trees as the focus on the shot I think you could have done this by moving a bit to the left, selecting a low camera angle by shooting up at the trees and gotten a little closer to them. To me your shot shows a lot of promise but you just needed to more fully develop the sound conceptual ideas that were there.
Thanks Philber and Steve, both very helpful comments. I like your suggestion of getting closer and lower Steve but I might have to pick some different trees as there is a stock-proof (and photographer proof) fence in the way. Fortunately there are plenty of interesting alternatives here so I will try the concept from a slightly different spot.
