I had to find out the answer... Commes de Fuckdown. That's just brilliant - http://www.laweekly.com/music/ssur-where-russian-culture-and-hip-hop-culture-collide-4814242. In short - Russian immigrant that grew up in Coney Island has bunch of streetwear labels and did this as a parody of some fashion brand (Commes de Garcon?). Then some rap guys wore it and it blew up.
quick test with an ebay helicoid adapter for leica M ... with voigtlander 40/1.4. I don't have experience with the real deal VM-E but this $50 one seems to work OK from few shots Ive tried. Anyone with experience with the ebay helicoid? anything I should be aware of?
Some more shots later this evening with modified A7rM. Excuse the higher ISO's as it was becoming dark.
First shot at f/5.6 and the last three shots at f/1.4
My immediate observations is that the 50 Lux Asph behaves very differently than with the A7r stock. Personally I am thrilled that the 50 Lux Asph works so with well with the A7rMod. More testing is needed

Very nice, these look very promising, thanks for sharing. Would love to see how it goes on the 35 FLE too.

I definitely agree, especially on scale and as a counterpoint to the landscape beyond/around.
I can also see there is a way of thinking when shooting landscape that is fighting for an empty vista and gets annoyed with anything that interferes with it, tunnel (view) vision!
I've been guilty of it myself in the past, of not seeing the bigger picture, of wanting to kind of own the scene.
It was just amusing to watch this guy getting worked up in front of this massive view. Made me realise how ridiculous that mindset is.
Truth is I rarely if ever see other togs at dawn, preferring to find isolated spots, so a bit of a mirror when I do encounter them. ...Show more →
sometimes, I prefer people to be in my scene and will look for them. Same with animals.
I havent posted this one, in this thread so here it is...... I purposely searched out for people
IMO, scene is just not the same without the people. It's like you're part of the scene in this photo, everyone, including you, is viewing the sunset. Think street photographers, they often WAIT for people to enter the scene, for their interaction. Well I think landscapes can definitely benefit from such interactions.

I know that 19th century water colour landscapes in the UK used to fetch more if they contained people and probably they still do. Sometimes a landscape without people that was by a well respected artist would have them added subsequently by unscrupulous dealers in order to enhance the value.
I took my lunch hour away from the office today and found some countryside to wander around, I had previously scouted this location on lunch break last week.
More shots with the Rokkor-HG 35/2.8. Once I got home and looked at these, I noticed there were really soft, but I also figured out how to fix that. The front element has its own threads, and had come out of place.
