Interesting your consideration about Nikon 24/2.8 because I've recently bought a Canon FDn 24/2.8... I'm looking forward to see more pictures of the Nikon 24 ais

What do you do when the temperature is below zero with a wind chill of -20 to -30 and you're itchy to use your gear? Just some images at various FL with a few lenses from my my office.
Received my new to me Zeiss ZM 35/2 Biogon today. Here are the first few shots from today, while working! I think this lens is sharper in the center than my ZM 50 Planar!!

A little pump for my company!!
almost the same image(same flower though) from the ZM 50 Sonnar, but the Biogon has less magic, but also holds its own in every other dept incredibly well!! IMO @f2
Small, lightweight "Plain"Minolta MD 24/2.8 (8/8 lenser) shows very good performance on the A7.Compared to older 9/7,24/2.8 Rokkors it's sharpness is more even across the frame. It is slightly softer in the center but corners are catching up quicker at f2.8- f4.Warmer,typical Minolta colours.Older 24/2.8 Rokkors have crisper rendering, less CA from f8 up and cooler look. Here at f8:
Thanks. I certainly have the gear living here in Minnesota. If I were going on a trip like yours, I would certainly be out there. I find hand and toe warmers really work well if I'm out for extended periods of time. The hand warmers stay in my palms under my gloves so that when I take the outer glove off, I can work the camera with just the thing under layer glove. Toe warmers are on the outside of my socks under my toes. I was able to stay out photographing for hours at -15F. Keeping skin covered is also key, especially if there's wind.

Cheers for the tips Bob. Hadn't thought of warmers under the toes - I have a pocket in my glove liners for them - I'll have to try that between my 1,200 thinsulate boots with 2 pairs of -40 and -50C socks ! We expect it to be -30C to -50C there (with wind chill), it's -18C with wind chill to -29C today !
Bring on summer! In the meantime, one from the Minneapolis Skyway . . . a series of raised passageways above the city streets that connects building to one another. Much of the downtown area is accessible via skyway without venturing outside. Thank goodness!
