Lhasa, Tibet, lenses in titles. Pre-Covid, face masks have always been popular as Tibet is high with harsh winds, super bright and very cold. These are in Lhasa (3500m) and Chiu Gompa at Lake Manasarovar at 4500m. In my opinion, these late 20th century lenses had great depth and sound color. They would have used leaded glass, to good effect. It's still around, but shh.
A collection of images of Lake Manasarovar and Gurla Mandhata. Gurla is just 3100m above the elevation of the lake, so it looks less impressive than its height of 7700m would suggest - 34th highest in the world. It's one of the world's premier 'power places'. (CY 35-70/3.4).
below freezing, Tibetans doing prostrations around the lake.
Gurla in the early sunlight.
88 kilometres in curcumference, 100m maximum depth.
sister lake Rakshas Tal in winter, Mt Kailiash behind. PLA soldiers helped dress these lhatos with khatas.
Gurla from 50kms away - some of the clearest air in the world.
Wonderful variety of images on this page, y’all! @HelenaN glad to see your images again, sorry your weather has not been great. @mudlake Congrats on that special grandchild, Eric, precious images! You are making me want a Nokton 50/1.0
