Glorious whale watching day!!! One of the whales repeatedly swam up to the boat to say hello and try to play. [ Note that the last two images are uncropped at 31mm focal length...THAT close. ]

Joahua, Orsay is one of my favorite places on the planet!!! If you are still in Paris, consider taking in the Musee Marmottan. It has a truly mind blowing collection of Monet's largest tableaux, including many from the period where he was losing his sight and thus painted in extremes of color and contrast. It is an under celebrated treasure of Paris.
A few of mountains in Alaska (vis sunrise and IR).

Thank you, Jim! Those images were from my visit last month. I never knew about Marmottan museum. I will keep that in mind for next time. Great images from Alaska and more recently, from your whale watching trip!
We have had an unseasonably mild August here in Central SE Texas, and have had hummingbirds here most of the summer. That is unusual in my location. I am beginning to see different hummingbirds filter in which most likely signals the beginning of fall migration.

So many of the same plants are in my garden area. Great images.
Thanks Bill! Yes, we seem to have some similar flowers for the babies. We only have the ruby-throated hummers in our region, only from late April to mid to late Sept.

Nice macro shot!! Butterflies have alien looking heads when looking closely.
Douglas, thank you. Macro with my seven-year-old copy of the FE200-600 at minimum focus distance, heavy crop.
