Since my last post here, the GAS situation has worsened. I have purchased two second-hand lenses, a 20G ($458 USD) and a 50GM1.2 ($733 USD).
For my Japan/South Korea holiday in 15 days, I'll limit what I bring to a 20G, 35GM & 70-200GM2. I will miss the 50GM for night shots though.
Over the years, I've had a keen interest in flash photography but never had the opportunity to explore it.
I purchased a Godox AD600 Pro II and have been trying to figure it out. I had the chance to take my flash setup 4 hours south of where I live to take my first ever family portraits under strobe. I relied on TTL, and the results were sadly inconsistent between shots. Next time I get the opportunity, I'll be exposing for the background and adjusting the strobe power.
50Gf1.2 @ f2.8 with flash (my mother is a little crazy)
Nice work, Ed! I was down in Florida for a big airshow and took some shots of these beautiful birds shortly after sunrise before heading to the airshow.

Looks like you had a good day at the spoonies Douglas. We had a good month or so there this year. Looking forward to your air show images.

I was at the Sun N Fun airshow on Friday and Saturday. One of the highlights was the F-16 Viper Demo still in the 50th anniversary paint scheme from last year. I didn't get to see it last year, glad they are keeping it for one more year. This is the paint scheme when F-16 was unveiled 50 years ago.

I was out for a hike yesterday and came upon these Bighorn Sheep in a rugged canyon nearby. They seemed very curious of me and climbed above and out onto a rock outcrop bathed in warm golden hour light watching me from above and posing nicely allowing me to capture a few frames. Amazing watching these animals navigate the steep rocky cliffs with such ease!

Awesome. Where were you (approximate, not asking for your secret spot)? Profile says Vail, but that seems like a lack of snow of you, but I haven't been up in a few weeks so possible I guess.

This was in Glenwood Canyon which is significantly lower in elevation than Vail by a couple thousand feet and about 40-50 miles west of Vail. This time of year you can ski in the first half of the day at high elevations and then go for a hike down lower in the afternoon which is kind of fun!
