Fantastic shot, Joshua! The bird (a hummer?), the flower, and the clean background, everything fell into place.
Thank you very much, Doug! Yes, the bird is a hummer, a green brilliant, actually. It is quite common species of hummers in CR. We deliberately focused on exotic looking plants that hummers prefer. We then encouraged hummers to stop by.
I enjoy your fall color images. I am sure the fall colors are at peak right now...

Thank you Tim! Next time I will try Shenandoah NP for this, didn't have time Thursday night.

Thank you Steve! I was going to wait at Lindy Point for northern lights on Friday night but the forecast didn't look good so I headed home.
From West Virginia yesterday.
Very nice set Douglas! Glad you had a good day. And I see you made it over to the sweet spot near Job! I love that spot. Steve

Probably, it is the plant that looks more attractive...
Wow! That’s a stunner, Joshua, with the shapes of the bird and exotic flower, and the colors. Put that on the wall!

One more in my experiments with painterly fall reflections in a local lake. Loving the Sigma 500mm for this.

Love this, Hatch! The red highlights from the red wings blackbirds are a nice touch, and what a beautiful background rendering the 600/4 produces.
Many thanks. There's so much to look at in the image, it can be a little overwhelming. Glad you liked the shot, thanks again.

I haven't ever seen so many flying birds in one place!Great job!
Many thanks. If you ever get a chance to make the trip, Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge just outside of Socorro, New Mexico is a fun place to photograph. Tons of wildlife to be seen and heard.
Initially, I used the electronic shutter but noticed severe banding. I then switched to the mechanical shutter (though it was a bit loud for the event) and captured a few images without any banding. The last two images show the banding from using the electronic shutter.
Sony A7CR "UT" + FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA. The lens performed flawlessly with Eye-AF, even in very low light conditions.
