I was barely able to photograph this high mountain Ruffed Grouse deep in the Uinta mountains at about 9,000 feet elevation. These birds are always deep in cover and I was lucky to get this shot when the grouse moved his head into a small space between branches and leaves allowing my camera to focus for a couple seconds.
Thank you very much, Birdie and JaKo! Zhangjiajie is really a magical place. I was there for two nights this time, one full day and one morning, due to the rain and heavy fog, I had a total of about two hours that was "photography worthy". The mist after the rain was something else. I heard from folks who are experienced in shooting this park that the best time is after it rains.
A few IR shots. The lack of strong sunlight to create contrast wasn't the best for IR shots but here they are. I had an A7RIV converted into IR last year and took it to the same park. The stripes in the sky were too visible, even the 24 MP a7III could show stripes in the sky too but they are less visible due to lower resolution. I really like to have an higher resolution IR camera, need to do more research on that.

fun with Abigail and the 50/1.2
That 50mm F1.2 GM is magical, Ross! Even though I don't have a use for such a lens for what I normally shoot, I enjoy looking at what it can produce, especially in capable hands like yours.
