I know doves are ubiquitous and a lot of photographers don't photograph them because they are "boring." But doves are some of the most beautiful birds out there, especially their eyes. Here are a few of the recent doves I've been able to get close to.

Thank you very much, K-H.! Yes, that little lens has proven to be useful more than just a few times.
Your GIF images have improved significantly now that you are using the A9 III!
Thank you Joshua, I agree on the lens, a little gem.
For the kinds of GIFs I shoot the A9.3 is a miracle device.
120 FPS is amazing when one needs it.
But it's easy to use also for lower FPS.
Pre-capture is certainly a must for all new Sony high end cameras.
Voigtlander 50mm f2 APO-Lanthar. Winter solstice, Launceston, Tasmania, both f8. The time is likely to be midnight, not noon. Might be a message of sorts. The top image is of Tasmania's oldest church, St Johns Anglican, 200 years old this year. Its bell was cast by the same company that cast Big Ben in London. Sailing journeys were ~100 days at the time.

The A7 Mark II is now quite an old body. I am still not convinced that upgrading will give me a lot of improvement in that still photographs, where one uses ISO 100, a tripod, and one develops from raw. Maybe should I need to try a better body?
