A7r -- 90mm f/2.8 Leica Elmarit-R E55 - I am trying to learn how to better process black and white. This is today's experiment with high contrast and color filters.
Dale, for me these look great, but maybe a touch over-sharpened? It is always hard to make these determinations at web size, but it looks that way to me. Beautiful country up there! My Dad lives just outside of Conway.
Finally got my Metabones adapter and it finally stopped raining (briefly) to let me try out EF-mount on my new a7r. So far, so happy. First impression is the difference in rendering between TSE24 and Zeiss 50MP seems more stark - might be placebo effect and 2 months without using either.

Thanks, Yes they are intentionally sharp. One of the things I was trying to do was to approach critical sharpness without artifacts or that little white halo that often occurs when over sharpening. Actually I had the sharpening set to about 50% in LR and then applied external sharpening in the re-sizing algorithm in PS. This was a concept I picked up from fellow FM member Philip Reeve. Having said all that, you may be right -- too sharp.
Very nice images on this page. Love the wedding shots!! I like the BW's Dale! There are so many BW combos to try!!
Dbehrens...very nice! Loved the CV 40...so light and sharp!!
Viper..fantastic night bridge!
Here are more from my Mitakon 50 .095...

While I'm at it, I thought I would throw in a plug for my favorite coffee house on the planet. It's pretty far off the beaten track, but if you're in Maui it's worth the trip and there's lots of great upcountry photo ops nearby. I highly recommend the 100% organic Maui coffee (roasted on premises) and the waffle with strawberries, bananas and blueberries.
Although interesting to visit but Capri is photographically only so so during the harsh day light. The blue grotto was too dark and practically impossible to photograph from a rocking small boat. We didn't stay overnight on Capri. Pompeii is absolutely gorgeous but I took too many images there and I haven't completed the PP of the images. I will post some shots from Pompeii later on.
The last spot of my trip to Italy was Cinque Terre and Manarola, is probably the most scenic location for sunset and after sunset shots. Here are a few shots from Manarola, starting with the sun was still up but at a low position, until the village lights were on and until it was practically dark plus a two shots of the wave pounding the rock there. The first Manrola image was taken with the Nikkor 28mm f/1.8 AF-S G lens at around f/11, the second was with WATE at 21mm at f/11 and the last one, that includes the foreground rock, at 16mm at f/11. It was quite windy when I was there and too bad, the clouds became less and less and practically disappeared at the end of the shooting session.
Another excellent series Joshua! I really want to pack my bag and go there. Was it the WATE for the night shots? Personally, I would expose for more stars in another shot and blend it to balance out the beautiful rock structure. I love them all, regardless.

These are just fantastic! Did you use any filters? I will be visiting Cinque in three weeks as I will be staying in Santa Margherita Ligure.
