An entrance ramp to the Queens Midtown Tunnel in NYC this morning. This would normally be so packed with cars you could walk across them for several blocks (and they wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon). Today: Empty.
Had to go in for medical reasons (non-coronavirus related). Actually have to go back a couple of times over the next few days to ferry some things to a friend in desperate need at Sloan Kettering, so I'll take some more before & after the drop off/pick up.
Very few people on the streets, with absolutely no problem keeping 10-20 ft away from anyone passing by. I took my wife into a medical building, and it was practically empty. No one in the elevators, no "visitors" allowed so I had to go back and wait in the lobby, which was practically empty. She just got the treatment she needed in time: the office closed for the duration after the Dr. saw her.
I grew up in NYC, and the only time I've seen it like this is at about 5 AM on a Sunday morning; and not many of those.
Weird thing is: the marquee lights on the Broadway theaters (on 42nd st) were all ON !?! Go figure.
Thats has to be a pleasant break for those having balconies in the building on the left. Yes, you would be correct about the only other time you see the streets that empty would be on the early mornings of Sunday.
Sakya's enormous corner block. Four of these anchor the structure, linked by tall wide walkways. Here, the lower openings in grey are for ventilation and light, they are barred because this was a Mongol fortress in all but name. And it's why the windows are small and the victory banners on the roof are plain. They started it in 1268 with lavish funding provided by Kublai Khan, and finally it was finished in 1290. Just over the way, there was a seven storey palace, one of many. The Buddhist orders in Old Tibet were immensely wealthy and owned huge estates.

Question: I recently did a clean install on my iMac. Since completing the install, I find that when I edit in a third party app like Luminar 4, the returned image is missing exif information. This seems to be limited when exporting in PSD format. If I export in TIFF, exif information is retained in the round trip.
I don't typically see these big gators up and walking around like this, but it is mating season. Sadly the whole series was wrecked with hot and humid atmospherics and had to apply some heavy-duty processing to get it to this point.
