At Heart Lake (Lake owned by the Adirondack Mountain Club), the Adirondack Mountains, Lake Placid, NY.
My first image from the Venice Mask Carnival 2020 in this thread...
Edit - for whatever reasons there were some artifacts on the upper right hand sky portion of the original image posted here. Thank you, Jim and therealthings for bringing It up to my attention. I had to edit that away and this post now has the edited first image. Sorry and thank you.

Awesome first shot, Joshua! Great colors! It looks like your choice of the Sony 50/1.4 over the Sigma 35/1.2 worked out well.
Are you seeing those weird artifacts in the sky to the right (and a few to the left)? Look almost like Chinese characters or "chops".
And . . . does that head gear have its own backlight
Looking forward to more of your visit.
Thank you very much, Jim! No, I didn't notice that until I read your post. It is not in the original RAW file but it is there in the edited TIFF file. I ran Topaz on that file, again using the default setting and I didn't think much about it and I didn't look closely on the small screen I have here.
I used a flash unit on a light stand to get the highlights around the hair dress. BTW, I ended up taking my FE 50mm f/1.4 with me and left the Sigma 35mm f/1.2 home for a better gapping to the the Sigma 105mm f/1.4.

Nice DOF Joshua. Can you explain the odd shapes on the top right (lighter area) in the OOF area? Is that compression, NR or some sort of watermarking?
Thank you very much! It is probably artifact caused by Topaz Denoise... and I didn't notice it until you and Jim mentioned that above.

Fantastic, as always. The 50 1.4 is my favorite multipurpose lens as it can do everything really well (except wider FOV, but I carry my "other brand" camera for that). I can't wait to see your Sigma 105 images. I'm still going back and forth about ordering the 100 STF again, but the Sigma 105 can isolate the subject at a much wider range of shooting distances. Maybe the STF is a better lens to rent when I need that unique STF look.
The South West coastal foot path runs 630 miles around the peninsula from Somerset to Dorset - it gives access to spectacular seascapes but this being me here are a few shots of one of the 'grittier' stretches at the mouth of the Plym.
