This lens is rapidly becoming a strong favorite of mine. Besides the fact that it is the "new toy," it continually surprises me with its outstanding contrast and color, and yet very malleable files for shadows and highlights (also kudos to Sony sensor and Adobe LR).
I really wish I'd had such a package in my productive years in commercial real estate. ("I coulda been a contender!")
Some shots from a quick trip across the Long Island Sound from Connecticut to Setauket, Long Island, NY where I spent most of my youth from 4th grade until after college and when I joined the US Navy. I've gone back occasionally over the years but usually not with much time to take pictures. This time I had some time and was rewarded with a couple of inches of fresh snow that early morning.
Went to the Washington National Cathedral last night for a Christmas carol concert. I can't say I enjoyed it because I had never heard of most of the songs they sang in old English and I didn't understand a word of them. Anyways, I managed to snap a couple shots with the A7RIV and the CV 15. Even after heavily correcting the prospective and cropping, the JPEG files are still 35MP.
The bird count at Bosque del Apache when I was there a few days ago wasn't that good; it was for sure below my expectation. However, the sky or skies there were superb; dramatic and colorful for sure. Well, here is an image from the crane pool in the evening...
Sad to see all those dead evergreens on the valley floor. Really accelerated in the last few years -- now it looks like 40-50% brown.

Thank you very much, Jim! Yes, that’s a sad situation and it is getting worse, like you mentioned...

Thank you, Birdie and your image there is awesome! And yes, it somehow reminds me how cold it was in the morning. Brrrr! Oh, you mentioned that already .
Robert, with me it was the other way around. The moon was like a strong magnet grabbing the AF point . That’s one heck of an image from Bosque, showing the snow geese in focus.
Neat shot Robert. Don't feel bad, as I don't have one with both bird and moon in focus this trip. I always seemed to have some setting wrong . My brain must have frozen like my fingers did
One from the dam last week where is was great meeting Douglas and Mukesh. Mukesh even let me shoot with his FE 400/2.8, I'll never be the same after that.

Haha! I know about the cold fingers. Amazed me at Bosque how cold in the mornings to be shorts/t-shirt in the afternoon.

How I started my little walk yesterday, while the tires were being rotated. . .
I devolved pretty quickly!
I especially liked finding the "Not Without My Daughter", moldy edition, found on a "rustic" backstreet in an abandoned rusty shopping cart, with a front tag from Salt Lake City Library.
