A sight very few people ever see - the Drang-Drung Glacier, here covered in the record snowfall of 2019, seen from Penzi La (4400m). This was mid-May, the road had just been opened thanks to the great new snow plows.
Philip - good to hear they have new snowplows for that road - hopefully an improvement on the equivalent of a single D9 Cat
The Indians are very good in the mountains. The Chinese in Tibet have the best road/rail/airport engineering anywhere, very analytical and effective, but for sheer on the job intensity, it's the Indian BRO (Border Roads Organisation), so important they are part of the armed forces.
Here's one in the entry valley west of Zanskar. I could have used a Batis 18mm here, justruss recommends that one. You watch your step very carefully, many of these places require goat-like agility and footplant awareness.
Looking at the sun as it is dropping below the far hill; actual sunset was at 6:38.
Lower portion cropped off, tripod mounted FE 200-FE 200-600mm fG zoom lens set to 600mm and A7rIII camera, silent shutter.

Thank you Jim! Actually, on days like those above, even though the sun is too low to help, it's not bad at all. It's much worse when it's wet and windy.
