Joshua, welcome back. Lovely shot. Looking forward to your Ecuador shots.
The honey bees are back.

Thank you very much, Birdie! Another excellent image of honeybees you got there; very enjoyable!

Welcome back, any chance of sirens from this trip?
Thank you very much! I tried but no luck this time around .

The only encounter with this endemic bird that I almost screwed up... Too long to tell but here it is, the first image from the trip although I posted some in a different thread.
Thank you very much, Birdie! We waited the entire morning to no avail...it showed up in the afternoon for a brief visit but I didn’t realize that my camera setting was on manual mode after some “macro session” shortly before since this guy didn’t show up. I was too excited and I forgot to change the exposure mode . Fortunately, it wasn’t that bad thanks to the recovery capability of the sensor. Phew!
Here is another image of perching hummer and a special one at that, the Sword-billed hummingbird. This bird has the longest beak among hummingbirds and it is only the species that can get nectar out of trumpet-shaped flowers, called the Inca Queen (images will come). This hummingbird is limited to that region in Ecuador and at an altitude higher than 6,000 feet; this particular image was captured at about 11,000 feet. Indeed, we didn’t encounter that hummer anywhere else since we went to other places of 5,000 feet after that day.
Great view of Shanghai Renė.
Have been there a year ago for just 3 days, it was by far the most interesting city I ever visited regarding the architecture. The contrasts between the modern and the old things is so impressiv.

thank you for your friendly words. you describe the city perfectly. despite your short stay. It is a fascinating world. I am fortunate to make your visit for a few weeks almost every year.
Some more from Stockholm, Sweden in September. We only had a couple of days and the light was really dull, so I mostly took photos in the subway and after dark.
For the last one I used a color filter (part of the OMNI Color Expansion Pack) that I was beta-testing for Lensbaby at the time.
