Shooting sunrise this morning, I realized that the light was starting to go farther up the sky and my 65mm lens was too long to get all the color so I stupidly changed lenses. Oh well. Here is the last shot with my CV 65 (as I tilted up to try to get all the color in the frame) and then the first shot with my CV 40. The light was short lived, unfortunately.

For your interest, a few scenes with comparison photos from Sony a7R2 with Zeiss ZE 28/2 plus MC-11, and Canon 5DsR with Zeiss ZE 18/3.5. These lenses are my most recent used purchases, so I've been putting them through their paces to get acquainted with their strengths and weaknesses (or quirks).
I know we are on a Sony forum, but hope others are interested in how the different bodies compare when using generally high quality lenses. Granted, I'm talking apples, oranges, and bananas, but the overall image output and compatibility between brands is something that always keeps me interested.
I've used LR to make the images looks somewhat comparable, but not intending to match color or exposure exactly.
Apples, oranges and bananas mixed together are tasty and healthy
Images taken with the 5Dsr look crisper and more attractive.Well, adapted lenses are always a tad behind in performance than native.Anyways - the difference is not that significant.Thank you for sharing that Jim.
Looking at your fisheye images I feel obliged to move my lazy ass and take my fisheye rokkor 16/2.8 out to the field after 2 years of standing on the shelf and doing only some in-home close ups 1,5 years ago.
Fisheye is a difficult perspective from my point of view, yet obviously it is high time to try.
Here's one with the Batis 40 CF. I was taking some close focus shots of bleading hearts in my backyard garden yesterday and to my surprise my chocolate labrador Clyde came in for a close up of his own!
