Spring has sprung!
This image was taken on location in the hills near Malibu. I had the model stand on a chair to get her above the flower line. We were lucky to have the clouds, as the next day there were none.
Great light and photos. My fav is the first one (the wider view).
Thank you! In the first one I was trying for something a little different and the wider view shows the extent of the massive rocks all along the coastline.

Yes it looks wilder too but also what had really attracted me is the lines (cracks) in the rocks, they seem to converge somewhere and make the photo more eye catching.

Thank you for posting these photos. I have flirted several times with the idea of getting this lens, however by some sort of weird coincidence, at about the time I was nearly decided, photos were being posted here or in some other thread, with some washed out, muddy colors or counterlit veils or some other sort of issues that made me seriously question the capabilities of the lens. Your photos helped me regain confidence
Thank you very much for your kind remarks.
I like the lens very well (except for slight mechanical vignetting in the corners at 24mm) for shooting in contrasty conditions, which I seek. I find it works well, with a second camera using Loxia 21 and 35, the Loxias having an advantage in color and sunstars.
There is slight variability in this lens design, but overall it is very consistent. Mine was off a bit (purchased on initial pre-order), but a quick trip to the Sony repair center in Connecticut fixed it nicely for balanced corners and sharpness across frame.

Helena, Jim, I admire your skills and creativity to turn ordinary (sometimes even unsightly) subjects into artsy presentations. Some shots from this morning. Spring is finally here. You all have a nice weekend!
Thank you, Douglas!
I am honored to be noted posting close to Helena, whose work I greatly admire. It's always a pleasure to post these "narrative" sequences near hers.
here is another one. This lens is so good that I don't really need to process the files that much This reminded me of "Big Fish", the movie. Taken at Tuweap (Toroweap) a few days ago.
A7riii + Leica 35-70 @ f/5.6 and maybe 60mm or so.
One thing I love about shooting the SATX Riverwalk is you don't have to look far to find a gentle s curve. I just had to wait for a few runners to show up to anchor the right side of the image. I'm starting to include more people in my cityscape shots lately.
