Jim, how you like 45TSE rendering style?
I had completely forgotten this lens, I had it in 2008-2009, and I always enjoyed it's focus plane rendering style, boke was not so great - this was at the time slight disappointment as one would expect tilt-lens to have very nice boke, maybe it was designed to keep stuff in focus not to create nice miniature effect. By default I hate almost all that era (and earlier) Canon EF lenses due to their rendering style and colors. Canon's latest tries with improved optical schema and nano-coatings are not bad e.g. latest 24-70L, 85/1.4L and RF 50/1.2L etc. [yes, prices of all these new are quite ridiculous]

Thanks Samuli, as always for your comments and lens history.
I quite like this lens and always reconsider whenever I think of selling. I enjoy the rendering very much -- soft and smooth wide open to f/4.0, and beautiful focal plane separation between f/4.0 to f/8. Focal plane rendering is crispy from f/5.6 to f/11.
Color is warm and enveloping with nice (mild) SA glow at wider apertures.
This seems a near symmetrical design with that classic "medium format look" at wider apertures, f/2.8 to f/5.6. I use 3 points of manual CA correction in LR to remove purple fringing.
I use the lens with limited movements, as a high quality normal -- not an architectural lens for me.
Mine is a recent vintage, UZ date code, one of the newest assembled (maybe better than earliest manufacture?).
I've only used Canon's new RF 50/1.2L and 24-105/4L and can tell you I'm in love! Best fast 50 I've ever used. I'm anxious and revitalized to try a higher MP R version. I'm very curious about the RF 35/1.8 macro.
