From a burst with the A9 and 400GM, technically the light is completely flat on a overcast day in middle of winter near the arctic circle and there is some motion blur in some images. But I find it interesting since in my limited experience it is unusual that a golden eagle appears to be caught by surprise, usually the aggressor is met by talons.
Unfortunately flickr oversharpens these quite a bit at the output size I used, larger versions without the extra sharpening on my Flickr if anyone cares.
Dropped lens hood on loxia 85
struck down two meters below where I was sitting
Fortunately, I was able to climb down and get it.. had hit rocks
scratches and a small dent on it .. but if it had fallen a little further out then I could not get it , 80 meters down
Damn these lenshoods on the loxia lenses
is so bad that Zeiss can not make it better so they sit more firmly

Sorry about the mishap with your lens hood. I don't know why Zeiss is having all of these problems with many of their lens hoods. My Zeiss lens hood for my 35mm f1.4 ZM Distagon bayonets on and locks down really tightly. The hood is not reversible, but locks in place and allows the lens cap to attach to the lens or filter inside the hood like my Minolta 28mm f2.8 M-Rokkor lens.

Ronny, you can console yourself... Werner lost his Loxia 21 (the lens, not the lens hood) in the waters of Venice
Here below the sunrise sequence at "Podere Belvedere". The frames are different because I tried to minimize the flare.

Fight For Food (Not quite as dramatic as Morten's amazing Eagle fight!)
A Brown Pelican caught a large fish and couldn't get it down quickly, so all the other Brown Pelicans and one American White Pelican started chasing him until he landed in the water.
Here is what happened after that (a couple from sequence of 40 shots).
The Brown has the fish in the first shot, to the left of the White.
Immediately afterwards I looked up and there was a cheerleader celebrating for his friend.
A few facts:
The American White Pelican has the advantage, being the second largest bird in the USA, with up to almost a 10 foot wingspan. Vs. the Brown Pelican's 6'.
This was at Port Canaveral, the second largest cruise port in the world, only behind Miami..
Also used by the space industry to bring material into the adjacent space center and home to SpaceX's "Just Read the Instructions" autonomous drone barge where they often land the first stage after it returns to earth.
We explored it on the Blue Dolphin pontoon boat as part of the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival.
All shots taken using A9 and 100-400GM with 1.4 TC.

Beautiful photos, as usual, Helena! Love the snowy scenes, and that Burnside 35 still blows my mind with it's "stereoscopic" 3D look. Very tempted to get one myself.

Sorry about the lens hood. I have problems with both my L21 and L35. My L50 seems better. Weird, because the ZE/ZF design was very secure metal on metal. I like Canon's latest lens hoods -- plastic, with a locking button. Very secure, lightweight, and dent-free!
