So, being 200mm, was this about 10 shots in vertical orientation?
One of the things I like about shooting in the Pacific Northwest is that if you have time and patience, the most outstanding shots can be obtained between storms, from fall to spring. As you found, you can have weeks of overcast, rain, and winds, but then unpredictably, the magic hour clears up for you! The area rewards the prepared -- see Mike Reid's images for examples.
Thanks for the very original shot, and the back story on Flickr.
We enjoyed a fabulously intense sunset tonight. The peak colors lasted as long as I can ever remember a sunset or sunrise lasting in my life. I grabed my newly acquired A7R2 with the 16-35 GM attached, I purchesed this lightly used A7R2 on the FM B/S Forum and it will serve at times as my second camera body and a backup to my A7R3. I also wanted to use the Sony Apps again which I very much miss on the 3 series A7's! Come on Sony give us some in camera capabilities like time lapse, smooth reflections nad Sky HDR.
New member here, just wanted to say hello.
To be honest, the primary reason for me to register at FM was to have better luck selling my Sony gear than at POTN (I used to shoot with all Canon for years).
But I don't mind posting a few photos here and there and participating in discussions.

Lots of beautiful sunrise/sunset shots on the last two pages.
Joshua: Did you get a new ride ? In all seriousness, another wonderful shot of this egret. The lightning and feathers are stunning.
Beautiful waterfall image, Jordan. Sure looks cold, though.
For ISO 8000, that second shot looks like decent, Bob. Nice series. Having used the Sony 24-105 quite a bit recently, I realized that for landscapes I do prefer MF lenses with a hard stop at infinity and those nice ten-bladed apertures, as nice as the Sony zoom is.
Robert: A bit noisy, yes, but still great job catching the woody, esp. seeing how the Sony camera Nikon lens combination can be quite fickle for plenty of users.
Jim: I really like your composition and those warm autumn colors (on the previous page). How are you liking your Sony 24-105?
Marcus: Amazing panorama. Wonderful work that deserves a spot on more than one wall, I'd say.
Batis 135 wide open. This thing is sharp like a razor and exceptionally well corrected, but I'm still in the process of finding better, more frequent usage for this lens.
Super rare occasion of 2 intercontinental flights meeting right above my camera, at 35,000 feet (well, with a couple thousands of feet separation between them of course).
Lufthansa Frankfurt - Mexico City (A340), and KLM Amsterdam - Houston (I think), (B747).
