My Canon 100-400 II came in just in time for sunset today, had about 15 min of daylight left to look up and snap the only illuminated things around. VERY impressed with AF-C at 400mm with the MC-11, I'd be led to believe it was basically useless, but centering the focus point worked quite nicely!
Lots of rain lately, so went to a favorite waterfall. Never seen water levels so high. Stayed too long and just missed an epic sunset, sigh. Anyway, here are some pics from today:
Stunning aurora shot, Ronny.
Great work with the big Canon, Bob. Are you handholding that brick ?
Lee, Stephen: Beautiful waterfall shots.
Jim: Nice christmas illumination. The subtle sunstars produced by the Loxia work really well in those type of shots.
Joshua: I think the ladies should consider themselves fortunate to have their pictures taken by such an excellent photographer.
Mitesh: Great stitched panorama showing off the epic proportions of the place.
Werner: Great composition with that veeery wide lens.
Manuel: Beautiful soft lightning on that sunrise (sunset?) landscape.
Sony 24-105 at 24mm and f4. I have to admit this zoom performs better than I had anticipated. It's expansive and f4 can be (too) slow at times, but I really appreciate both the long and the wide end.
Here are variations of the above three houses with Christmas decorations, although done a short while later and changing to the Sigma 24/1.4 Art and cropping to panorama. Although I lose the Loxia sunstars on this last setting, I think the Sigma 24 is sharper overall.
